Hi Luis,
Don’t worry, I write when I discover something but I am not pressed!

I bought a kit that I already assembled (nice work you have done).

I am receiveng today3 new wemos (I wanted to try them anyway) and I will test the procedure with another one.

If I discover that the one that came with the kit is not working, you owe me one wemos, otherwise I’ll wait untill you are confortable at home!

Keep travelling in Greece and enjoy.

Carlo

At first attempt, the behaviour of the new wemos is identical to the other one.....
I’ll study wemos and windows 10: if I discover something I’ll tell you, otherwise l’ll wait for you..

Hello Carlo,

As I have referred to in a previous answer - "Check if the USB cable supports data and power". That is probably the cause of your problem.

Saludos, Luis

Hi Luís,

I tried to update the NMEA2WIFI multiplexer to the latest version 62, but after the flash of the firmware, the multiplexer didn't start. I tried several times without success, so I had to revert to version 58 that has worked. Do I need to do something different to flash this version?

Thanks, best regards,
Rui Cunha

Olá Rui,

In order to flash version 62 you still need to use an USB cable and use a flasher as described in the beginning of this topic. If future versions of software are released you will be able to flash using OTA (Over The Air) and without cables.

I just got a new ESP8266 module from my shelve and used the "old" method and there was no problem. One of the common reasons why users are not able to flash is that the use a wrong USB cable. There are many USB cables that only have wires for power. That could be the reason of your problem. Could the flasher program discover the COM port?

Regards Luis

PS: penso que falamos ao telefone há tempos atrás. Se tiver dificuldade pode me ligar!

Hello Luis
I flashed today my multiplexer from V40 to V62 following your kind tutorial.
At completion of the procedure, I cannot use the multiplexer.
Wifi ‘NMEA2WIFI’ Channel has disappeared and is replaced by ‘Farylink_633620’ without password and capacity to address 192.168.4.1. So unable to take control on the system.
Please advise.
Cheers
Bernard.

Hello Bernard,

Could you tell at what stage the process failed? You need to follow precisely the steps described in this post. I can always send you a flashed unit if you are not able to solve the problem by yourself. Please send me a private email if that is the case.

Regards Luis
