How to Flash a blank ESP32 module
Hello, This topic concerns the multiplexers that use the ESP32 module - NMEA3WIFI, NMEA4WIFI and N2K0183. I took the case of the NMEA4WIFI to describe this process, but the method is identical to the other two multiplexers. I use this method with Windows 10 and Windows 11. 1. Unzip the attached ZIP ...

Nmea0183 output buffer and sentence dropping
Hello, Starting with versions: 8.2 of NMEA2WIFI 2.3 of NMEA3WIFI 6.2 of NMEA4WIFI 2.0 of the N2K0183 we changed the operation of the Nmea0183 serial output buffer (referred to as P2 in the N2K0183, P3 in the NNMEA2WWIFI and NMEA3WIFI and P5 in NMEA4WIFI). We use the example of the NMEA4WIFI multiple...

Re: N2K0183 as a Tool to Analyse the N2K bus
Hello Tedfiddle, As per my email, you can use use the Actisense Reader to get information on the data that travels on the NMEA2000 bus. You need to Select Unidirectional ActisenseB in the RAW settings and check the box USB so that data is sent through the Serial P2 port (echoed in the USB port). In ...

Re: How to update Nmea2wifi firmware
Hello Waldemar, That driver is not only necessary to update the firmware using a USB cable but it is also necessary if the multiplexer has to receive or send nmea0183 data from/to a PC, through USB. I don't know if it is possible to install the driver on Windows11 ARM. Just saw here that some people...

Re: Connecting to router in STN mode breaks NMEA out on p5
Hello Paul, I need to discuss the Heading Sentences with Dagnall. I answered too fast without noting to the requirement that you would not like to setup ST>P5. You should note that this is a very customised requirement and that could only be made once and not supported on future updates. I suggest w...

Re: Connecting to router in STN mode breaks NMEA out on p5
Hello Paul, Good to hear! And thanks to report it to us! Let me tell you that me and Dagnall have been working to optimize even further the internal operation of the NMEA4WIFi multiplexer and we will possibly upload a new firmware in the next days. In regard to adding the 2 sentences to the Filters,...

Open Networks & Hard Reset
Hello, Starting with versions: 8.2 of NMEA2WIFI 2.3 of NMEA3WIFI 6.2 of NMEA4WIFI 2.0 of the N2K0183 it will be possible to: create an open (not protected) AP only network and/or also connect to an open (non protected) external network In order to achieve that, you just enter the string NULL in the ...

Re: Connecting to router in STN mode breaks NMEA out on p5
Hello Paul, An oscilloscope could indeed reveal some differences in the P5 output waveform but it would be difficult to interpret them. The idle state of the waveform is LOW (about 0 volts) and when data is being sent out, it alternates between 0 and 5 volts. It will be difficult to derive the bytes...

Re: Connecting to router in STN mode breaks NMEA out on p5
Hello Paul, I understand completely your set up. I think there are 2 possibilities: a) there is some bug neither detected when the multiplexer works with your setup or b) there is too much data that leads to traffic congestion of the P5 output buffer. I am only betting on 5% for a) and 95% for b) or...

Re: Connecting to router in STN mode breaks NMEA out on p5
Hello Paul, Thank you for the extra information. 3 small notes: - do you get the IP the router gives to the multiplexer? With the shown settings, after you press SET, the IP should appear under the logo. - did you try your smartphone as a router (I mean as a hot spot)? - P5 working at 4800 could not...
