Re: Connecting to router in STN mode breaks NMEA out on p5

Hello Paul, An oscilloscope could indeed reveal some differences in the P5 output waveform but it would be difficult to interpret them. The idle state of the waveform is LOW (about 0 volts) and when data is being sent out, it alternates between 0 and 5 volts. It will be difficult to derive the bytes...

Re: Connecting to router in STN mode breaks NMEA out on p5

Hello Paul, I understand completely your set up. I think there are 2 possibilities: a) there is some bug neither detected when the multiplexer works with your setup or b) there is too much data that leads to traffic congestion of the P5 output buffer. I am only betting on 5% for a) and 95% for b) or...

Re: Connecting to router in STN mode breaks NMEA out on p5

Hello Paul, Thank you for the extra information. 3 small notes: - do you get the IP the router gives to the multiplexer? With the shown settings, after you press SET, the IP should appear under the logo. - did you try your smartphone as a router (I mean as a hot spot)? - P5 working at 4800 could not...

Re: Connecting to router in STN mode breaks NMEA out on p5

Hello Paul, So you say that when you connect also to your router, everything works except that data out from P5 starts to fail. You should note the following: - P5 baud rate should be able to cope with data that arrives to the multiplexer and that is routed to P5 (is that 38.400 or 4800?) - when the...

Re: Connecting to router in STN mode breaks NMEA out on p5

Hello Athertop, My feedback here is just based on your drawing. I am not familiar with the instruments and I would need to read the manuals in order to be more assertive. I assume that you AIS and you E80 have no internal GPS and location data is only available from the shown GPS. As per your descri...

Re: How to update Nmea2wifi firmware

Hello Waldemar, You need to follow the steps in the beginning of this post. Once you get a newer version supporting OTA changing from one version to another is very easy. Unfortunately at the time of 5.6 the update was not so simple. If you know how to use Arduino to flash an ESP8266 module, there i...

Note for users that participated in the testing

Hello, This post only concerns users that help us in testing the multiplexers and have the 1st hardware prototype. In that hardware, the internal pads that support the input PX serial port do not exist and (THIS IS THE PROBLEM) the Can Bus pins used by the ESP32 are different from the final hardware...

Cable to connect to the Nmea2000 backbone

Hello, I stock a cable terminated by the a M12 male connector that can be used to connect the N2K0183 multiplexer to a NMEA2000 backbone. The cable is 1 meter long and is not shielded. However due to its relative short length it will work perfectly in a NMEA2000 system. m12-cable.jpg In this post I ...

NMEA4WIFI - TH and KIT after November 2023

Hello, There has been few changes since the NMEA4WIFI was initially created. They are are as follows: the ESP32 module is supplied already flashed. You may check if there has been a new firmware and update the firmware if desired. the CN1 connector is now as 12 pin connector as we removed GND from t...
