Re: Unable to join network “NMEA2WIFI”

Has anyone had problems with their iPad and/or iPhone joining the Wi-Fi network? I’ve tried all manner of settings, resetting the multiplexer and the ipad/phone , mobile data off, etc.. nothing seems to work. Same problem with both. Mike, Did Luis's answer help- or do you still have problems? How f...

My question is - are you sure that your USB cable is a data cable?

Regards, Luis
Luis. That is a VERY good point, I have rather too many "power only" USB cables. These were either supplied with some products as power cables, but I also have some where the data wires just broke!.

Re: How to Erase and Flash an ESP32 module

Zamino, The CH340 driver is not easy to install, but is essential as I am sure you realise!. You should be able to find a Youtube video to help, but I found this one OK. Its from Sparkfun but works ok. I do not know of any instructions in German to help, but I am sure Google will help you!. If you c...

NMEA4Wifi V4.1 OTA upload issue

Luis, I had some problems when trying to check OTA with my NMEA4WIFI V4.1 code. I was having problems with OTA Upload, and the progress was getting "stuck" at about 12%- 40%. To help others - I found that the "fix" for me was to disconnect the SeaTalk (A4/B4) inputs - With SeaTalk wires both disconn...

Binary Update using IOS (Iphone)

The IOS web browser has a fault that does not allow the upload "progress" to be properly tracked, and finding any downloaded files can be non intuitive (at least to non IOS people like me) - So I have done some screen captures of the binary update process using an IPhone to help others. The importan...

Re: TCP Ports

Mike - Sorry no immediate answer- I had not tested my setup for 3Hrs!..I hope you were not on a long passage? TCP should be OK if you can put up with a single link and do not need TCP on anything else.. I believe I am correct in saying that the multiplexer can only support a single TCP connection. I...

Re: Problem attempting to record from Nmea4wifi tool

Mike, this is not an "official" answer, and I am sure Luis will answer soon.. I am not sure where NMEA4WIFI has an option for "a filename to save the file to" in Debug mode? - Perhaps you could explain in a bit more detail about what you are doing? - The only options for saving files I can see are p...

Re: TCP Ports

Mike, Thanks for the feedback! Glad it helped. I discovered Qtvlm by buying the UKHO chart usb from visitmyharbour, and it was on the usb stick. Its perhaps less clean to use than seaclear, but the grib and planning gizmos inside are fascinating. In these times of enforced non sailing I find myself ...

Re: TCP Ports

I used to use a program that would only take serial and spent a while finding an approach using free software. First, you need to set up a virtual serial port - in fact a virtual serial port null modem pair.. Then you need a Serial -TCP program like "Serial-TCP" this links a network IP TCP to one of...
