How to use N4W - setting ... Software
I am sorry to be a little unpolite, but i connect N4W as explained but i cannot get a usefull device.
My configuration is a seatalk network + a bridge nmea 0183 to connect AIS.
I connected N4W to the seatalk network on P4, i receive data, i can connect on both wifi that all.
But i dont know which software to use to :
- have a repeater,
- how to send data to opencpn, navionics and sailgrib,
- having a remote control for S3 pilot (seems not possible)
I am desapointed because i cannot receive any support or answer.
Thanks

Hello,
In the last email I received from you, you wrote:
I am sorry for not answering your last question. But I must say that I do not understand what PC tool you refer to. Once you get a WiFi connection to the multiplexer you just type 192.168.4.1 and you can set the multiplexer completely.
There are many applications to receive data from the multiplexer. I don't know if you a use a PC or a
Android or a IPad. Please browse this forum.
I am in Greece right now and I try to do my best on supporting users.

Just after my message i retried and the connexion works.
So forget my request.
1 question, where can i download the pc tools ?
is there a page on your web site ?

Thanks for your answer.
In my first email :
I didnot succeed to get connected now this is ok,
i did not find the page to download your pc tools to get connected to the n4w, i was thinking there were more parameters settable on windows program than web page, it is not.
I found where to download the tools even it is not clear which should be used R2 or the other.
I am using android and i am looking for android soft.
You say there are many but when you start you dont know which one you should choose. And up to now i didnot find.
I am looking for 2 main functions :
Repeter to be able to see deep, wind, speed ... on and android cellphone.
An other one is to have an remote control for s3 pilot, seems not possible.
Thanks

Hello,
Please do not use the Nmea4Wifi exe tool with new versions of the multiplexer. For Android you can use SeaWi to display all the data that the multiplexer sends out.
At this moment I don't know if your autopilot is controlled by Nmea0183. If yes you could do it.

I ll try next week seawi.
About my pilot it is an raymarine s3.
Connected on seatalk.

Hi, Please forgive my "breaking in" to this discussion.
I have a Raymarine ST autopilot and it works fine with NMEA4WiFi..
I have Raymarine instruments that are connected to the Autopilot and NMEA4WiFi, so I can see them on the tablet/phone.
I have a NMEA GPS, and a NMEA AIS.
But you must connect the NMEA4WIFI NMEA OUTPUT (P4) to the autopilot.
On the NMEA4WiFI, Seatalk is an INPUT only..
I have attached a little diagram that may help?

Re: How to use N4W - setting ... Software
Greetings to all! Since this topic is the most active on the forum - I decided to write in it. A question to the creator of this device. I am planning to use your invention in a bundle of an old Hummingbird 717 (Matrix 17) echo sounder with gps - an Android device with Boating HD to create my own depth maps in places where I fish. Unfortunately, it is not possible to find an A236H optocoupler in Ukraine. Can I use a UART - TTL converter based on MAX 3232 instead of an optocoupler and its strapping? In fact, I only need one entrance to Wemos D1. Will it work?

Hello,
If you are designing your own hardware and if you don't need galvanic isolation from the data source device to the multiplexer input you just need an inverter. A simple NPN transistor with a pullup resistor to 3V3 will possible do it. The input base resistor should not be too low so that the transistor does not enter in deep saturation. 10K for the base and 1K for the collector should work.

Hi Dagnall,
Your layout looks great.
Do you mean you are able to send datagrams or NMEA sentences
to the Seatalk port of your Smartpilot without any adapter circuitry ?
Thanks,
Bruno
