Hello,
NKE firmware update is done via original Box USB Datalog WiFi https://nke-marine-electronics.com/proj ... talog-wifi
Any chance it would be possible to update NKE firmware via Nmea4Wifi?
NKE firmware update
Re: NKE firmware update
Hello,
I don't know about NKE. If you formulate your question more precisely, I will do my best to answer.
Regards, Luis

Re: NKE firmware update
Hello Luis, for firmware update NKE use TopLink2 software. I can send TopLink2 and manual to you to check if Nmea4Wifi "sees" it.

Re: NKE firmware update
Hello Luis, maybe you had time to test?
Re: NKE firmware update
Hi, Luis has asked if I can look at this problem for you.
I have looked at the NKE setup that you have sent, and as far as I can see, the Toplink2 software must be run on a PC that is physically USB connected to the NKE box.
Although the NMEA4WIFI does have a USB output, It does not act as a simple "USB extension socket" to the PC.
I also note that the NKE manual is very specific and specifies that if the download is interrupted, it can mean that the NKE device will need to be sent back to the factory. (!) It is therefore probably a very bad idea to try and send these NKE uploads over a wifi link, in case they get corrupted.
I am sorry that this may not be the answer you wanted.
Best regards
Dagnall

Re: NKE firmware update
Hi Dagnall, thanks very much for your reply.
Could you please explain this "USB output does not act as a simple "USB extension socket" to the PC".
From my understanding USB output should create virtual COM port on PC, then this COM port is used in navigation software. Or not?
According to TOPLINK2 manual as USB port driver they use D2XX https://ftdichip.com/drivers/d2xx-drivers/
Also just in case here is the manual for NKE multiplexer https://mega.nz/file/5JVwHQwb#-i6ZfZtA_ ... bfO4hkU8mU
