Yanmar Oil and Fuel Filters

Post by Luis Sa » Sat Sep 16, 2017 9:06 pm

Hello,

1) OIL FILTER

I could not find in the Yanmar 3JH5E engine manual the reference for the original oil filter. So I have these possibilities:

119305-35170 as seen in here: http://marinedieselparts.com/store/3jh5e.htm

I read in the WEB that: "YANMAR 119305-35170 OIL FILTER REPLACES 119305-35151 - The size of this new filter is smaller than the original, but it is the Yanmar recommended replacement and meets all Yanmar specifications for applications where the 119660-35150 or119305-35151 was formerly specified".

So I concluded that the following reference is also suitable for the 3JH5E engine:

119305-35151

and for this I find in Europe (Osculati from Italy) the equivalent part 17.501.07.´If you do a google search with "osculati" and "17.501.07", you get a number of suppliers for this filter.

2) FUEL FILTER

The Yanmar manual specifies 119802-55801 as the reference part number for the fuel filter. Osculati (my preferred brand of marine supplies) only has a replacement for Yanmar 129470-55703 which is usedin many 3JH and 4JH series. That part is 17.508.02.

SVB (https://www.svb24.com) from Germany has 2 options for the 3JH5E fuel filter! Reference 15718 costing 6.68 euros and reference 15719 costing 15.08 euros. The second one should be an exact replacement for the 119802–55801. The first one is a bit longer (both have the same thread of M20x1.5) and should be a replacement for the 129470-55703

There are dozens of equivalents for the Yanmar parts. For convenience I have been using both parts from Osculati (the oil and the fuel filter) which are depicted before.

Regards, Luis
