Finally, about 8 am on Thursday, June 10, we arrived at Mahon in Menorca. More or less 38 hours after we leave Antibes. Mahon is the capital of Menorca and it is the second biggest natural port in the world after Pearl Harbour. We got a berth for the boat and we decide to stay the day and nigh in Mahon before departing to Portocolom 24 hours after we arrived there.

While in Mahon, Iris took the opportunity to make an overall cleaning of the boat by flushing fresh water to remove the salt and, afterwords we took a a nice walking through Mahon. We will return here in the future!

Our base in 2010 was PortoColom and we never went to the North of PortoColom. There are many beautiful beaches to visit and to swim near and to the South of PortoColom. One is PortoPetro. There are buoys in PortoPetro and we do not need (it is forbidden!)  to set the anchor. We spent one night in this beautiful village.

We would like to go to the natural island of Cabrera but a special license was needed in advance.  Therefore we decided to go to the other side (the Palma side) of the island. We took 3 days for that. On the first day, we went from PortoColom to Colonia Sant Jordi where we spent the night. On the second day we went straight to Peguera (crossing the Bay of Palma). We did not like very much that part of the island so that we returned to PortoColom on the third day. The wind and the water help us to make these short passages.
