RECEPTION OF NMEA 0183 SENTENCES

With the Nmea4Wifi Tool you can receive, record and display Nmea 0183 sentences. These sentences can be received from one of the following sources: COM port; UDP port or TCP port. If there are sentences arriving from the selected source, they will be shown in the display window when you press the RESUME button. When you do that, the button changes its label to PAUSE and all the other buttons become disabled. In order to change any receiving settings you need to return to the previous window by pressing the button PAUSE to stop the display of arriving sentences and allow the change of settings. Recording of Nmea 0183 sentences is stopped when this form is loaded. A description of the reception settings follows.

COM port – shows the chosen COM port number and baud rate. To change these settings, press CHANGE.
UDP port – shows the chosen UDP port number. To change this setting, press CHANGE.
TCP port – shows the chosen TCP port number and IP Address. To change these settings, press CHANGE.
AutoScroll – when checked the last received sentence appears on the bottom line of the display window. When unchecked you will need to Pause and use the scroll bar to see the last received sentences.

Filename for Recording – points to the filename that is used to save received sentences, when Start Recording is pressed in the ToolBar of the Nmea4Wifi Tool. The button CHANGE allows the setting of this file.
